Background

Dr Carl Kua obtained his Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery from The University of Queensland in 1997 and trained in Radiology at the Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital, Queensland. Dr Kua joined The Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Radiologists (RANZCR) in 2007 after completing a fellowship in Musculoskeletal Imaging. In addition to his Musculoskeletal and Sports Medicine interest, Dr. Kua has undergone training in Cardiac CT and is accredited by the Australian Conjoint Cardiac Committee to report cardiac CT scans.

On completion of his training, Dr Kua work as a Staff Specialist Radiologist at the Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital before joining Lumus Imaging. During his time with Lumus Imaging, he has worked in major Orthopaedic hospitals in Brisbane. Dr Kua’s skills and knowledge in radiology cover a wide range of sub-specialty areas across various modalities including MRI. A previous role included being the Supervising Radiologist at St Vincent’s Private Hospital, Northside in Brisbane. Committed to ongoing professional development, Dr Kua is a Senior Lecturer for The University of Queensland and has been involved in student and registrar training throughout his career.

During his leisure, Dr. Kua enjoys tennis, bush walking, watching sport as well as spending time with his wife and two children.
