Professor Pitman is the Director of Imaging at Northern Beaches Medical Imaging. His previous experience includes time as Departmental Director of several departments, including Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre and St Vincent’s Melbourne. He was a partner in Lake Imaging in Ballarat and Geelong before starting Australia’s first regional PET-CT oncologic service (St John of God Hospital Ballarat). Professor Pitman was also a Professorial Fellow in the Anatomy and Radiology departments of the University of Melbourne and Adjunct Professor in Medical Imaging at the University of Notre Dame and is Honorary Professorial Fellow at the University of Sydney. He has authored one textbook, several book chapters, including Gray’s Anatomy and over 50 peer-reviewed articles. Professor Pitman professional interests include the teaching of anatomy and imaging, perceptual error in radiology, anatomy and anatomical variants, medicolegal practice, professional practice standards via RANZCR and AANMS.
