I’m a medical scientist by qualification, and I’ve spent my entire working career in the Australian private health sector. Earlier in my career, I worked in pathology and primary healthcare roles. For over 20 years now I’ve been involved in diagnostic imaging.
The role that I’m doing at the moment is an Executive Leadership position with Healius Limited. In this role, I set the strategic direction and business finance for our Australian network of imaging service facilities.
I feel that diagnostic imaging is one of the most fascinating areas of medicine because of how technology can impact and change people’s lives.
In our network of imaging facilities across Australia, we complete around 13,000 imaging examinations each day. That’s equal to about one examination every 20 seconds. The way I like to look at it, that means every 20 seconds the work we do is having an impact on someone’s life. Sometimes these are great moments and sometimes they’re incredibly difficult moments for our patients. We provide a service that helps guide our patients through these experiences by combining our compassion and expertise with cutting-edge technology.
I’m actively involved in Surf Lifesaving Australia through my membership with the Queenscliff Surf Lifesaving Club in Sydney. I believe that surf lifesaving upholds a great set of values and provides a fantastic community service.
