About me
Dr Burrows grew up in Durban, South Africa. He studied medicine at the University of Cape Town, where having failed to make it as a professional cricketer, qualified in 1998.
Dr Burrows returned to Durban in 1999 to embark upon a career in medicine as an intern at Addington Hospital.After a year in country general practice in rural South Africa, he worked as a registrar in emergency medicine at St Vincent’s Hospital in Dublin, Ireland. After completing a diploma in Anaesthesia and working for a couple of years in anaesthetics and critical care in South Africa and the United Kingdom, Dr Burrows commenced training in Radiology in 2003.
After almost 5 years back in Durban, having acquired fellowship of the South African College of Radiologists in 2007, he returned to the UK, working in a number of different hospitals as a consultant radiologist.In 2008/2009 he trained in vascular and interventional radiology at McMaster University in Canada, thereafter working in 2010 as a consultant interventional radiologist in London United Kingdom.
Dr Burrows couldn’t have been happier to join HIS in Melbourne, Australia in 2011. He is the proud father of 2 active boys who quite timeously are avid Richmond supporters.
